Hobie – Mountain Cur/Treewalking Coonhound (Adopted)

Handsome Hobie is an approximately 3 year old, 48 lb Mountain Cur/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t know much about his history.

We do know he has a wonderful temperament. He is not reactive to people or dogs, loves affection, and is just an all-around good boy. Like many hounds, he is a high-energy, sweet and funny guy who needs plenty of exercise and room to sniff and explore to his heart’s content. Perhaps he could be a good hunting dog, as his distinctive bay is one of a kind. There is no doubt you’d find him out in the woods!

He is super sweet and gets along with other dogs, but seems to prefer trotting around doing his own thing. Hounds gonna hound! He knows sit, stay, and is working on other basic commands. Hobie’s ideal home will provide him with a large secure space to safely roam and explore.
