What our Clients are Saying…

Steve and Violet Clark – Adopted: George, aka Jorge

Greetings Pat, I haven’t touched base in awhile. I think of you often, every time I realize how fortunate I am to have Jorge. (George) He’s truly been a wonder and a blessing. He’s adapted perfectly to his new environment and he’s got me trained up pretty well. We’re leaving in a few days for a pheasant hunt in Kansas, I’ll send you some pics. I’ve had him on  ducks ,chuckers and quail, all of which he handled beautifully. He’s great in the house and has several favorite pieces of furniture. He’s well socialized with all sorts of people and dogs. He’s my constant companion and confidant. I want to thank you again  for the professional manner the whole adoption process was handled. Your personal attention to every detail was truly appreciated by me. The fact that you seriously considered both of our needs and situations went a long way toward this successful union. We wish you continued success in all your future efforts.Untill next time, Steve Clark and Jorge!(George)  PS feel free to share anything from me.

Jordyn Katterman – Adopted: Scout, Transported: Jack

In February of 2025 my husband and I experienced an adoption with Gundogz Rescue. The gist of it went like this…Gundogz Rescue matched us up with Scout who was being fostered in Oregon. We live in Michigan. Yet within a few days, Scout was making his cross country journey to his new forever home, all thanks to a volunteer. Seven months later and we can’t imagine life without Scout. I knew I wanted to pay it forward to the rescue, another dog, and another family. So when Pat with Gundogz Rescue was looking for a volunteer to transport Jack from Ohio to his new home in Minnesota, I told my brother he was coming on a road trip with me…a 1,900 mile road trip to deliver a dog who had no idea how his life was about to change! Jack spent the first four years of his life hunting with his person, but after his person passed away, he then spent the next three years living in an outdoor kennel. Transporting Jack was probably the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I just can’t get over how much my own Gundogz Rescue dog Scout has blossomed into a real dog after living in a kennel before we adopted him, and I know that Jack is realizing day by day in his new home that he too gets to be a real dog again doing what he loves with people that love him. After adopting our dog, I felt like the least I could do was pay it forward for another dog, and it turned out by simply heading out on a little road trip, we changed the world for Jack and his new family.

Natalie Hutzley – Rehomed: Penny, Labrador Retriever

If you are in the tough situation of having to rehome your hunting dog please know that they will be in the best hands at Gundogz. Pat and his wife were so kind and answered all my questions without judgement. Christine was so sweet and understanding during the transportation all the way from Texas to Washington! It was one of the most difficult decisions my husband and I have ever had to make but I know it was what was best for our dog Penny. Now she is about to go meet her new family and I’m filled with relief knowing she will have the opportunity to showcase her talents and live her best life. Thanks again to all the special people at Gundogz that made it possible.
